The Record in Context

A dated timeline of externally verifiable events around the record — launches, first-party admissions, filings, and state actions. None of it depends on this site's credibility, and all of it can be checked. Published to be checked, not believed.

How to read this page. Every entry carries a marker:

Pleadings are not findings. Every lawsuit on this page is a set of allegations — attributed to the parties who made them, adjudicated by no one. Filings are labeled as filings.

Links and attribution, not republication. We link to sources and characterize what they say; we do not republish their content. Where the public record carries no link — a docket entry, a paywalled filing — we name the source so you can find it yourself.

What this timeline can and cannot carry. The verified and historical entries corroborate two things: that the concern is not speculative, and that institutions were on notice. It does not — and is never used to — establish the CCD mechanism itself. That rests on the primary record, documented on the Evidence page. Each entry below states what it establishes and what it does not.

Updates land semi-live: this timeline is hand-curated, new anchors are added as they are verified, and every anchor is re-verified before any deployment. Corrections are appended, never rewritten — the same discipline described on the methodology page.

This page is selective on purpose: it carries only the events that bear on the record documented here, and each says what it does and does not establish about it. For the fuller OpenAI record — the model lineage, first-party disclosures, litigation, and corporate milestones, sourced and dated — see the documented OpenAI record, in this site's documented-record section.
